Dog of the Week: The latest dogs looking for their forever homes from Newbury Dogs Trust

Dogs Trust Newbury has a number of dogs at its Hamstead Marshall base who need a new home.

Nationwide, the charity currently has 754 dogs that are looking for a family to join.

You can find out more about adopting a dog by visiting the charity’s website.

Today we have Martha to introduce to you.

Martha is a beautiful three-year-old crossbreed, who came into Dogs Trust as a stray, having been handed over to a veterinary surgery with three puppies.

Dogs Trust said said she loves to spend time with people and is very affectionate.

They are looking for a new home for Martha where she is the only pet and there are older children.

Martha's ideal home would be in a quiet area where there is no pressure to go out on daily walks, as she finds dog interactions quite stressful.

“She is still learning some basic skills but she is very clever and loves her food, so training is going well,” the trust added.

“All Martha really wants is a chilled home, with low expectations and plenty of love to give.”

If you would like to find out more about adopting Martha - or any of the other dogs in the charity’s care - you can visit the Trust’s website.

We’ll be back next Sunday with another dog of the week.
