A COURT has issued a Domestic Violence Protection Order to safeguard a woman.

Thames Valley Police successfully applied for the order in respect of Robert Waite, who did not attend the hearing, to Reading magistrates on Monday, September 5.

Under its terms, 31-year-old Mr Waite, who was living at Priory Avenue, Hungerford, is forbidden from molesting Karen Waite.

Specifically, it states he must not be aggressive towards, or threaten, Ms Waite or her property or behave in a way that would cause her to fear violence would be used against her.

In addition, the order prevents him from evicting or excluding Ms Waite from a specific address in Priory Avenue.

Finally, it prevents him from staying at that address himself, save in company of a uniformed police officer, on one occasion, to collect any personal effects.

The order, made in accordance with Section 27 Crime and Security Act 2010, was to last for 14 days.
