Pangbourne Rotary Club organise charity dragon boat race supporting Launchpad, ReadiFood and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance




Budding rowers took to the Thames at Pangbourne Meadows to take part in dragon boat racing as part of the village fete.

The event was organised by Pangbourne Rotary Club, and six teams of 17 raced against each other on Saturday, June 18 to get their hands on a coveted dragonhead trophy.

The major final winning team was Humphrey’s Furry Friends with a time of 1.12.31, who narrowly beat Team Launchpad who finished with a time of 1.12.79.

The Bitchy Boys won the minor final with a time of 1.16.34, just a handful of milliseconds quicker than DragonCredo, who crossed the finish line at 1.16.40.

Humphrey’s Furry Friends, Team Launchpad and The Bitchy Boys all received a trophy.

The dragon boat racing was a charity event that supported Launchpad, a Reading-based homelessness prevention charity, ReadiFood, Reading’s food bank, and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
