Drama as lorry slides down embankment

Industrial units in Hungerford cut off by accident

A RECOVERY operation was underway in Hungerford this morning (Tuesday) after an articulated lorry lost control.

The incident, involving a huge Tesco deliveries lorry, happened in Station Road around 9.30am.

Mark Townsend, of First Direct Cars, said: "It obviously went out of control and slipped down an embankment."

Two Wessex Recovery vehicles were despatched to tackle the situation, which was still ongoing at midday.

Meanwhile, industrial units in Station Road were closed to traffic.
