Incident in Hungerford town centre
THIS was the scene in Hungerford town centre today as police and ambulance staff responded to a medical emergency.
Three police cars had raced to the scene from Newbury, with sirens blazing, soon after 11am.
They were joined by more colleagues plus staff from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police, Dave Bodymore, said: "We were called at 11.26am today (April 12) to a report of a man in his 80s who appeared to have suffered a medical episode in Church Street, Hungerford.
"Sadly the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family have been informed and are being supported. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
