Reading Magistrates' Court: Calcot drink-driver caught with drugs




POLICE who caught a drink-drive motorist discovered he was also carrying drugs.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 25, was Lloyd Roberts.

The 65-year-old, of Burbridge Road, Calcot, admitted driving a Ford Focus on the A4 at Southcote, Reading, on Sunday, September 18, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 62mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system – almost double the legal limit of 35mcg.

Mr Roberts further admitted possessing the Class B-controlled drug cannabis on the same occasion.

District judge Samuel Goozee fined him £200.

In addition, Mr Roberts was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £80.

Finally, he was banned from driving for 18 months.
