Nathanial Curtis banned for 36 months for drink-driving in Lambourn
A man has been disqualified from driving and fined for drink driving in Lambourn.
Nathanial Curtis, 29, of Queens Road, Reading, was disqualified from driving for 36 months, fined £1,000, ordered to pay court costs of £650 and a surcharge of £400.
He pleaded not guilty to driving a motor vehicle while over the prescribed limit of alcohol in a trial at Reading Magistrates’ Court on November 25.
However, after a three-hour hearing, Curtis was found guilty by the district judge.
Officers from the Rural Crime Taskforce stopped Curtis on November 17, 2023, in Market Place, Lambourn, after he was seen driving erratically.
He was arrested and charged the following day.
Investigating officer PC Ryan Dollery said: “Thames Valley Police take offending in our rural communities seriously.
“Curtis showed no care for other road users whilst using his vehicle when over the prescribed limit and I am pleased with the sentencing.”
“Curtis has now been held accountable for this decision.“Driving while impaired through drink or drugs is one of the Fatal Four, and he will now face a lengthy ban.
“As we head into the Christmas period, this case highlights the dangers we all face on the roads, and I would implore drivers to ensure that they are not over the alcohol limit when taking a decision to drive and instead use public transport or a designated driver who has not consumed any intoxicating substance."
