Reading Magistrates' Court: Greenham motorist drank more than twice legal limit

A GREENHAM man has been caught behind the wheel after drinking more than twice the legal limit.

Luke James Freemantle appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 29.

The 27-year-old, who lives at Pritchard Close, admitted driving a blue Ford Fiesta on Martingale Chase, Newbury, on Sunday, June 5, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 71mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Mr Freemantle, who represented himself in court, was fined £400.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £40.

Finally, he was banned from driving for 18 months.
