Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury drink-driver had no insurance




A MOTORIST has been sentenced for drink-driving and having no insurance.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 11, was Matthew Baillie.

The 42-year-old, of Sayers Close, Newbury, admitted driving a BMW 3 on Bartholomew Street, Newbury, on Friday, May 6, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 64mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system – nearly twice the legal limit of 35mcg.

Mr Baillie further admitted driving without insurance on the same occasion.

He was fined a total of £170.

In addition, Mr Baillie was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £34.

Finally, he was banned from driving for 36 months.
