Lambourn drink-driver Columban Hynes had no insurance
A MAN was caught behind the wheel after drinking almost twice the legal limit.
Columban Hynes appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 3.
The 49-year-old, of Francomes Field, Lambourn, admitted driving a Mitsubishi Colt on Bockhampton Road, Lambourn, on December 11 last year after drinking more than the legal limit.
Tests showed 69mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
The legal limit is 35mcg.
Mr Hynes, who was legally represented at the hearing by Harvinder Hear, further admitted driving without a valid licence and driving without insurance, both on the same occasion.
He was fined £300.
In addition, Mr Hynes was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £120.
Finally, he was banned from driving for 22 months.
