Reading Magistrates’ Court: Thatcham drink-driver’s £785 bill

A MOTORIST was caught behind the wheel after drinking more than twice the legal limit.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 12, was Steven Howell.
The 38-year-old, of Wenlock Way, Thatcham, admitted driving a Vauxhall Insignia on Wordworth Road, Thacham, on Thursday, March 16, after drinking more than the legal limit.
Tests showed 85mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.
The legal limit is 35mcg.
Mr Howell was fined £500.
In addition, he was ordered to pay £200 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £85.
Finally, Mr Howell was banned from driving for 22 months.
