Three-year ban for Newbury drink-driver David Vasiliv




A MOTORIST was caught behind the wheel after drinking more than twice the legal limit.

David Vasiliv appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 14.

The 29-year-old, of Gloucester Road, Newbury, admitted driving a Vauxhall Astra on Greenham Road, Newbury, on Wednesday, August 30, after drinking more than the legal limit.

Tests showed 83mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath in his system.

The legal limit is 35mcg.

Mr Vasiliv, who was legally represented at the hearing by Simon Hammudi, was fined £500.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge.

Finally, Mr Vasiliv was banned from driving for three years and two months.
