Reading Magistrates' Court: Newbury motorist took cocaine




A MAN has been caught behind the wheel after taking cocaine.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, January 3, was Darren Smith.

The 33-year-old, of Cherry Close, Newbury, admitted driving a white BMW on Bath Road, Speen, on August 11 last year when the amount of the Class A-controlled drug in his system exceeded the specified limit.

Ms Smith, who was legally represented by Simon Hammudi, was fined £50.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £32.

Finally, Mr Smith was banned from driving for 12 months.
