Burntbush Lane road closure forces cars through Bucklebury Ford

Due to a road closure cars were being re-directed through Bucklebury Ford yesterday (Wednesday) despite the water level being nearly a foot deep.

Diversion signs directed drivers straight through the notorious waterway, which was higher than the eight inch level most cars can manage to get through.

Luckily, West Berkshire Council responded quickly to complaints, and the diversion has been moved to avoid the ford by looping south through Thatcham.

Burntbush Lane between Bucklebury and Marlston Hermitage is closed until Friday, March 11, between 9am and 5pm so that fibre optic cables can be installed.
