Driver's lucky escape after car flips at Stockcross




B4000 re-opened after incident forced road closure

A DRIVER had a lucky escape after a car flipped at Stockcross last night (Wed).

Two fire engines from Newbury Fire Station were called at 11.55pm to the B4000, near to the Lord Lyon pub, where a Ford KA was discovered on its roof.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Firefighters found the driver, a man, had managed to get out of the car when they arrived.

Police and ambulance services were also at the scene and the man was then taken to hospital.

Firefighters made the scene safe before departing at 12.30pm.

The road was closed during the incident and also afterwards, to allow for recovery of the vehicle.
