Drop in fatal and serious injury accidents on Berkshire's roads

According to figures released this week (Mar 26) by Thames Valley Police, 286 people were either killed, or seriously injured on Berkshire roads in 2012 - 25 less people than in 2011.
Figures applicable to the wider, Thames Valley region also revealed 909 people were either killed or seriously injured on roads last year (2012) - 63 people less than 2011, when the total was 972 people, a six and a half per cent fall.
Head of Roads Policing for the force’s Joint Operations Unit, Henry Parsons said it was encouraging news that the number of those killed, or seriously injured, had fallen so dramatically, but continued:
“However, we have still had over 900 people who suffered injury or death on our roads last year.
“It remains our goal to help drive this figure down even more; working with partners in road safety and delivering both education and enforcement.”
