Thatcham drug dealer jailed
A THATCHAM drug dealer has been jailed.
Anthony Birmingham, of Almond Drive, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A (cocaine) at Reading Crown Court last Thursday.
The 29-year-old was sentenced at the same hearing to two years and eight months’ imprisonment.
He was arrested on May 19 this year in Almond Avenue, Newbury, and was found in possession of multiple bags of class A drugs and a quantity of cash.
Further searches at a property found further bags of drugs, scales and more cash.
Investigating officer PC Joe Gawronski, based at Newbury police station, said: “Some people try to glamorise the use and supply of drugs and do not realise the exploitation and criminality behind it.
“Often it can be the most vulnerable in our communities who suffer.
“Birmingham is facing the consequences of being involved in drugs supply and will now spend time in prison.
“Thames Valley Police will actively seek out to find those involved in drug crime and will bring them to justice through the courts.
“Anyone concerned about drug-related crime in their area or think someone may be a victim of drug exploitation, is encouraged to call us on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
“You can also report online or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
