Drug dealing and e-scooters rank high in Thatcham, police resident survey reveals
The results for Thames Valley Police’ neighbourhood priorities survey for Thatcham are in.
A total of 63 residents responded to the survey, choosing what they consider the top issues police should be dealing with in the town.
Drug dealing, antisocial behaviour and e-scooters – including off-road motorbikes – all came out as top priorities for residents.
Police have said they will be focusing on tackling these issues over the next three months.
A number of off-road bikes and e-scooters have been seized, riders issued warning letters and Section 59 warning notices, and police say this will continue to be a priority.
Previously, officers secured a house closure at an address in Longcroft Road due to alleged drug use and dealing.
They are working with the housing provider to provide a long-term solution for local residents.
This will now be removed as a priority.
Officers have also been dealing with drivers travelling on the wrong side of the road on the Broadway.
Vehicles have been stopped and drivers issued with out of court disposals.
It also confirmed the council has been asked to review road signage to ensure it is clear to drivers.
This will now be removed as a priority.
