Reading Magistrates' Court: Padworth motorist jailed for drug-driving offences

A MOTORIST who repeatedly drove after taking cocaine has been jailed.

Naresh Nanda appeared at Reading Magistrates' Court to answer the latest charges on Thursday, October 14.

The 39-year-old, of Macs Close, Padworth, admitted driving a Mercedes E220 on Norcot Road, Reading, on Thursday, April 1, when the amount of the Class A controlled drug exceeded the specified limit.

Mr Nanda further admitted committing the same offence again on Saturday, April 10, on the M4 near Theale.

The new offences meant he was in breach of a community order which was imposed for six previous offences of driving when the amount of cocaine in his system exceeded the specified limit.

Mr Nanda was jailed for four months and ordered to pay a statutory victim services surcharge of £120.

In addition he was banned from driving for four years.
