Reading Magistrates' Court: Woolton Hill drug-driver banned from roads
A MAN has been landed with a hefty fine and a driving ban after being caught behind the wheel with drugs in his system.
In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 25, was John Griffiths.
The 42-year-old, of Broadlayings, Woolton Hill, admitted driving a Volkswagen Golf when the amount of the Class A-controlled drug cocaine in his system exceeded the specified limit.
He further admitted driving without insurance and driving without a valid test certificate.
All the offences were committed in Queen's Road, Newbury, on Saturday, February 5.
Mr Griffiths was fined £600.
In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £60.
Finally, Mr Griffiths was banned from driving for 15 months.
