Thatcham drug-driver Jonathan Pearson is sentenced

A DRUG-driver has been banned from the roads.

Jonathan Pearson appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 9.

At a previous hearing the 33-year-old of Peers Place, Thatcham, admitted driving a Volkswagen Golf on the Broadway in Thatcham on Monday, March 11, when the amount of the Class A-controlled drug cocaine in his system exceeded the prescribed limit.

He also admitted driving without insurance and driving while disqualified on the same occasion.

Magistrates adjourned for pre-sentenced reports to be prepared.

At Wednesday’s hearing Pearson was made subject to an 18-month community order with a drug rehabilitation treatment requirement.

In addition, he was ordered to pay £85 costs, plus a statutory victim services surcharge of £114.

Finally, Pearson was banned from driving for 12 months.
