Thames Valley Police appeal after drug suspect flees Newbury crash scene




POLICE have appealed for public help after a drug suspect fled a car crash.

The incident happened at 5.30pm in Newbury yesterday (Friday).

A driver crashed, flipping the car onto its roof, after trying to overtake a cyclist on Shaw Road between Church Road and Love Lane.

The driver then fled the scene and hid a bag of cannabis, a Class B controlled drug, in a hedge.

The car involved in the incident was a Nissan with the registration plate beginning with YG05.

The cyclist did not sustain any injuries.

Investigating officer PC Chloe-Anne Brady, based at Newbury police station, said: "I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in the area and have information or dash cam footage to please get in touch.
