East Garston prepares to welcome music fans to Garstonbury

GET ready for Garstonbury.

The biennial music bash takes place this year in East Garston on Saturday, July 12.

Organiser Freddie Tulloch said: “Unlike the Glastonbury extravaganza, our event is just a day long – but it does feature some amazing acts plus the very best local talent.

“Our entry prices are also somewhat different from Glastonbury, with tickets priced from £25 for the under 18s – which includes free rides on the bouncy castles, a bucking bronco and so on – to £50 for adults, with discounted tickets for students and pensioners.

“The event has run every two years since 2014 and is designed to be a fun day out for all ages.

“In the past it has even attracted film stars like Dominic West.

“Most people will never be able to afford Glastonbury but hopefully they can afford Garstonbury.”

Local bands taking the stage include multi award-winning The Zoots, Shuffleplay, featuring covers of legendary artists like The Beatles, Bon Jovi and The Jam, the ‘70s-influenced Beyond Envy and Broken Dolls, playing an eclectic mix of music from the 1980s onwards.

Then there will be tribute acts featuring the music of Coldplay, Abba, Queen and Robbie Williams.

DJ Dr Cool will be playing the very best party anthems from the 80s and 90s that will keep you dancing to the very end.

The event opens at 10am; the music starts at noon and the event closes at 2am on Sunday.

The campsite will be open from 6pm on Friday, July 11.
