East Ilsley limbers up for diamond standard Sheep Fair

Sheep fair committee member, and more importantly, barman, Phil Blowfield, has extra reason to celebrate this year as he has been nominated as an Olympic torchbearer and will be running with the flame through Winchester.
The East Ilsley resident, who recently helped the children of the village get new play equipment to replace the 30-year-old provisions, said he was delighted to be chosen to carry the torch.
Entrance is free and attractions will include a craft marquee, shire horse carriage rides, fun dog show and much more.
Thousands of people flocked to last year's show, which celebrates one of England's oldest and most significant markets.
The sheep fair will be held in its usual location in Pen Meadow on Sunday, June 3, starting at 12.30pm and ending at 5pm.
