Easter changes to waste and recycling collections
Collections will return to normal on Monday, April 16.
And until September 30 the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) on Newtown Road, Newbury will be open for an additional two hours in the evening to match the longer daylight hours during the spring and summer months.
The opening hours are 8.30am until 7.30pm.
General Manager of Veolia Environmental Services in West Berkshire, Mark Gray said: “The changes to opening hours at the HWRC gives residents more options when bringing their waste to the site for reuse and recycling, especially over the Easter holiday period when the spring gardening season starts.”
West Berkshire Executive Councillor for the Environment, Hilary Cole (Con, Chieveley) said residents are also being reminded that they can take their recycling to the new recycling centre in Padworth, Reading.
Residents are also asked to look out for their next supply of compostable liners for their kitchen caddy. The roll of liners will be delivered on a recycling collection day between April 10 and May 11.
