Easter fun for all the family as petting farm comes to Newbury town centre

THERE was Easter fun for all the family in Newbury last Thursday as a special Easter Petting Farm took centre stage in the Market Place.

Despite some downpours in the early afternoon, even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of the hundreds of people who turned up to see the animals.

Although the main attraction was the petting farm featuring rabbits and lambs, there was also free face painting for the children as well as special visits from Disney princesses and the Easter Bunny.

The free half-term event was organised by Newbury Business Improvement District (BID).

Newbury BID’s operations manager Alison Drummond said: “It was a really nice event and so lovely to see people smiling.

“The weather wasn’t on our side at times, but the town was absolutely buzzing.

“All the retailers I’ve spoken to have said it was a busy Easter weekend, which is great for business, for footfall and for Newbury as a whole.”

Newbury BID is an independent Community Interest Company formed in 2012 which allows the businesses of Newbury town centre to work together.
