Ecchinswell's bank holiday build-a-beast competition

Village May Fayre to boost air ambulance funds

A build-a-Beast prize-winning competition returns to Ecchinswell over the bank holiday weekend as part of the traditional May Fayre celebrations in the village.

Last year 30 entries were created for the contest, with 50 entries expected this year and villagers invited to build a “weird and wonderful creation”.

The beasties can be viewed on display on Sunday at either Ecchinswell village pond or at The Royal Oak pub and the winner will receive a meal for four people at the pub.

Family, fun-packed May Fayre activities at the Royal Oak on Sunday, from 12.30pm until late, include human table football, wacky racing, live music, traditional games and craft stalls, as well as a bake-off competition.

There will also be a barbecue and hog roast, raffle and tombola.

Proceeds in aid of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
