Eco-friendly pupils help re-launch Thatcham Co-op store

The Co-operative has invested £695,000 to transform the store as part of its ongoing commitment to local communities.
The pupils from the Sagecroft Road school, have also signed up for The Co-operative’s Green Schools Revolution, a programme designed to nurture the next generation of green pioneers
The school will receive a donation of £200 towards their environmental projects, and a hamper packed with fresh produce to inspire their work on healthy eating, which is a key theme of the programme.
The new-look store has been designed with families in mind, and will include additional self-scan checkouts.
Store manager, Paul Roberts, said: "Our shoppers lead busy personal and professional lives, they want a store that they can nip in and out of, grabbing the day-to-day items and quality fresh produce that they need, while still getting a high level of customer service.
"Whether they’re picking up milk for a morning coffee or looking for a tasty meal deal for dinner, they’ll find it in our store.”
