Elderly man dies following Midgham fire

Thames Valley Police were called to the fire at Rowlands Copse at about 9.30am and Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews, one from Newbury and one from Dee Road, to put out the fire.
Two firefighters extinguished the flames at the single-storey semi-detached house.
Police spokesman, Leo Tarring, said that the fire was not believed to be suspicious and that the coroner’s office had been informed.
As a result of the fire, several roads closures were in place this morning.
