Elderly man saved by stranger after heart attack in Thatcham yesterday (Mon)





The incident happened outside the Co-Op store. The manager Jo Watson, said a passing pedestrian stopped to perform the lifesaving CPR but added that it was not a member of her staff. The identities of either party involved have not yet been confirmed.
The South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) was called shortly before 12noon to reports that a man had fainted, but on arrival it was confirmed that he had suffered a cardiac arrest.
The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, in a life threatening condition, but is now said to be recovering.
