Eleven-year-old boy hit by car in Burghfield
Youngster taken to hospital following collision
AN eleven-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Burghfield this morning (Mon).
The collision, between the car and the youngster, happened on the Reading Road just before 8am.
The South Central Ambulance Service said: "Fortunately the boy appears to have escaped injury but has been taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for further assessment."
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
A dark coloured Volkswagen Golf was involved in the collision.
Investigating officer PC Gareth Miles from the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Three Mile Cross, said: “We are investigating this road traffic collision.
“We are asking anyone who may have witnessed this collision to please come forward.”
