Emergency services and air ambulance attending injured pedestrian in Newbury

Thames Valley Police were called at 9.28am to the incident, which occurred between the Sainsbury's and Burger King roundabouts.
An elderly male had been knocked down by a Ford Mondeo, and is believed to have suffered head injuries.
The road was closed northbound to allow the air ambulance to land, and the elderly person was eventually taken by land ambulance to Southampton hospital.
Although paramedics were on the scene shortly afterwards, other ambulances and police cars struggled to make it through the traffic as the air ambulance hovered overhead.
Traffic across the area has been affected as a result of the incident.
His condition is thought to be serious.
