Emergency services attend gas leak in Newbury




Hambridge Road was closed off for about an hour-and-a-half last night (Thursday)

EMERGENCY services attended a gas leak in Hambridge Road in Newbury last night (Thursday).

Fire crews from Newbury were called to the area at about 7.30pm after receiving reports of a small gas leak from a pumping station in the road.

Police were also called and the road was closed off in both directions for almost an hour-and-a-half while gas engineers attended to the leak.

The road was fully re-opened at about 9.20pm.
