Emergency Services Day at Newbury Racecourse
Representatives of the police, ambulance, fire service and mounted police section will all be in attendance
MOTORISTS in Newbury may need to plan their journeys as additional traffic may be passing through town today (Saturday).
Newbury Racecourse is hosting a celebration of emergency services today as part of its Dubai Duty Free Spring Trials Weekend.
Representatives from the police, ambulance, fire service and the mounted police section will be in attendance and there will be demonstrations and interactive displays showcasing their work, alongside plenty of family entertainment and special guest appearances throughout the day from children's character Fireman Sam and the Newbury Racecourse mascot, Harry the Horse.
Taking centre stage the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance will be on site for racegoers to see, with funds raised from the day being donated to this service.
Meanwhile on the track, the highly-rated Frankel will be in the spotlight in the totesport-com Greenham Stakes, with Richard Hannon's Strong Suit expected to lead the challenge.
