Englefield 10k promises to be bigger and better
This year’s race will be the third and will again be held at the Englefield estate near Theale.
As well as the main 10k multi-terrain run, the organisers, the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey and Tadley Runners, are offering a 3.2k run for the under 15s and a 2k fancy dress fun run.
Meanwhile, profits from the event will go to the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust
One of the organisers, Jim Walker said: ”The air ambulance needs a minimum of £6,000 a day to keep providing an essential air ambulance throughout Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. It is unquestionably worthy of support.
“Make your August bank holiday weekend a memorable one by participating in one of the three races and have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping the air ambulance to keep in the air.
“The Englefield estate is a marvellous venue for the run, the race circuit being totally private and free from traffic.
“As a result of diligent leafleting of neighbouring 10k runs, the entries are already rolling in with the event now promising to be bigger and better that ever before.”
The race takes place on Sunday, August 26.
