A harvest collection will be taken at an Englefield church.

St Mark’s is holding a special harvest festival service at 10.30am on Sunday, October 13, and is asking parishoners to bring some gifts.

The church has prepared a list of food items that people can donate, including instant coffee, tins of soup, meat, fruit and vegetables, rice, rice pudding, dried milk, biscuits, UHT milk, shaving foam, and sugar.

Items brought to the church at the hour-long family-friendly service will be given to West Berkshire Foodbank to share.

A monetary collection will also be taken, and this will be given to the Reading-based charity Parents and Children Together. This works with vulnerable families.

The website www.stmarksenglefield.org.uk has more details of the service.

It also includes links to the foodbank and PACT.
