Come on down to Pangbourne and enjoy the jazz
There’s live music at Pangbourne Jazz Club this weekend with guests The Big Colors Big Band.
The band was formed in 2008 by former National Youth Jazz Orchestra and NYJO Graduates trumpet player David Shiers and The Spin Jazz Club founder, academic and drummer Dr Mark Doffman.

Many great players have gigged with the band but are not heard on the 2010 Big Colors album including: Brandon Allen, Ross Anderson, Ewen Baird, Ed Barker, Rik Bolton, Joe Carey, Louis Dowdeswell, Martin Dunsdon, Jim Gold, Binker Golding, Sue Greenway, Nathan Hawken, Greg Heath, John Hoare, Matt Hope, James Lowe, James Mitchum, Andy Panayi, Martin Pickett, Art Themen, Andy Townsend and Steve Waterman.
They play with the Pangbourne Jazz Club rhythm section: Terry Hutchins (guitar), Andy Crowdy (double bass), Jim Pollard (piano) and Brian Greene (drums).
The Big Colors Big Band gig at Pangbourne Jazz Club is on Sunday from 7.30pm at the Pangbourne Working Men’s Club in Whitchurch Road. Entry is only £12.50. There’s a cheap bar, a raffle and public car parking.

PJC is a monthly Jazz Club, founded by Keith Howard and Terry Hutchins in 2016. They have great guest artists from all over the UK, bringing the Best of the British Jazz scene on the first Sunday of each month between February and December. The club has a great atmosphere, great audience and great guests - “please come down and enjoy the jazz”.
