Entrepreneurial Thatcham teen starts first business before even finishing college

Saffron Walker, who lives in Thatcham, is currently completing a Level three beauty therapy course at Newbury College and on Friday, she opened the doors for the very first time of her new beauty salon located in hairdressers, De La Cruz in the Broadway.
Her mother, Debbie Walker, said that Saffron approached the hairdressers with her CV and, as they did not already do beauty, they said they could help her out.
Ms Walker said: "First and foremost it's college, then study, then work.
"The management (of De La Cruz) are fully supportive of that.
"I'm very proud of her of what she has achieved already.
"She had a really good opening day; there was a lot of interest."
Saffron can now be found in the top floor of De La Cruz on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesday afternoons and evenings.
