Essential bridge maintenance due to begin

West Berkshire Council will begin the works to the Love Lane and Whitefield’s Farm bridges on Monday, February 4 for five weeks.
The works are to replace the bridge bearings that support the bridge deck and accommodate the thermal movement that occurs with changes in the weather.
The project will require a nearside lane closure on the northbound carriageway of the A339 at Whitefield’s Farm Bridge and a nearside lane closure on the southbound carriageway at the Love Lane Bridge.
The lane closures will be in place from Monday, February 4 until Friday, March 8.
This could cause some delays to A339 traffic particularly during weekday peak-hour periods.
The works will also require two overnight closures of Love Lane on Saturday, February 16 and Friday, March 1 and two overnight closures of Whitefield’s Farm Bridge on Saturday, February 16 and Monday, February 25.
