Country estate Ewhurst Park near Newbury granted planning permission to build luxury glamping site

A North Hampshire country estate has been granted planning permission to construct a glamping site within its grounds.

Last December, Ewhurst Park filed an application to transform an agricultural field into a glamping site which would contain 10 luxury tents, two communal tents and two storage containers.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council planners approved the application on Thursday, October 31.

The glamping tents will be of a ‘safari’ style, each with their own self-catering facilities, parking spot and hot tub.

The plans state: “It will allow future users to learn about the natural environment around them as well as participate in activities such as yoga, massage, mindfulness, pond dipping and nature trails.”

The site – which is currently used for cattle grazing and is approximately 2.3 acres – is located to the west of Ewhurst Pond and it will be accessed via the main entrance to the estate.

In August 2023, Ewhurst was granted permission to build nine holiday lets and a café on its grounds as well.
