Archaeologists from Berkshire and the surrounding counties are gathering for a symposium to hear about the latest projects taking place locally. The event will take place at St Nicolas’ Church Hall, Newbury from 10am to 4.45pm today.

Then later, also at St Nicolas Church, the Beenham Wild Orchestra Spring Concert, an evening of orchestral music by British Composers, is planned.

West Berkshire Ramblers will meet in the public car park near the canal at Kintbury, grid ref SU386672 from 10.30am for a walk through Hamstead Lock and back through Hamstead Park and across the field (six miles).
