Hallowe'en fundraiser and memorial darts match in Tadley,and Burghclere concert.
HALLOWE'EN fun is to be had at Sainsbury's Tadley branch today (Friday October 28), to boost charity funds.
Shoppers can guess the weight of the pumpkin and take part in a hunt around the store, or indulge in a spot of spooky cake decorating, in aid of the Loddon Valley Day Care Centre, Tadley, which provides respite care for the elderly and is the supermarket's nominated charity this year. Join in the fun from 10.30am.
A CHARITY darts match is to be held in Tadley this evening (Friday October 28).
The Trevor Bird Memorial Open Darts Competition is taking place in honour of the late Trevor Bird of Tadley, a member of The Ambassador Club, Tadley, who died in a road accident while walking home from the club, in November 2008.
Proceeds of the evening will go to the Loddon Valley Day Care Centre, Tadley.
A raffle will also be held.
The match will take place be at the Ambassador Club (RG26 4QQ), with registration from 7pm to 8pm.
A FUNDRAISING concert is to be held in Burghclere on Sunday afternoon (Oct 30).
At the East Woodhay Does West End concert, East Woodhay Silver Band will play, with performances of songs from stage and screen by local singing students trained with professional tutor, Nathan Lubbock-Smith.
Proceeds are in aid of local air ambulance funds, boosting the £3,000 total raised in sponsorship by East Woodhay villager Vicki Kyle-Lawrence, who trekked up Mount Kilimanjaro last month.
The concert, at which there is seating for 300 people, starts at 3pm at The Clere School. Tickets cost £10 (£8 senior citizens). Under 12s go free of charge.
