Events lined up for Carers Week




There will be a number of events running in West Berkshire in aid of national Carers Week.

West Berkshire Council said it provided an opportunity to celebrate the work that unpaid carers do and raise awareness of the support available.

This year carers week will run from today (Monday, June 6) until June 12, with each day having a different specific focus.

The theme this year is “making carers visible, valued and supported”.

There a number of events being run locally for carers, including an information event at Thatcham Catholic Hall on Thursday, June 9, from 10am to 2.30pm.

Event organiser TuVida, which also runs the Berkshire Carers Hub, will be holding a range of social activities for carers throughout the week, both online and in person.

Among the activities there will be sessions on mindfulness, Tai Chi and bowling.

There will be online sessions for working carers on Tuesday, June 7, and another on Friday, June 10, on ‘Wills and Power of Attorney’.
