Everyone chuff, chuffed with event

There was face-painting, raffles, a bouncy castle and other activities for families to enjoy, and children were chuffed to bits with the train rides on the church’s narrow gauge railway, which churchwardens plan to extend into a loop around the building.
The fun day was organised by the parish plan group who worked closely with the church to involve different community groups, with money going to the West Berkshire Food Bank and other community groups.
Among those present were members from the neighbourhood police team, the West Berkshire Foodbank and the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust, who showed children some owl droppings, which revealed what the birds had been eating.
Children from the Willows School choir performed to visitors.
The chairman of the parish council, Tony Forward, said: “The event went superbly and we were blessed with brilliant weather.
"I was surprised by how many people turned up.
“The choir was also superb and the event was well supported by different groups.
“A lot of discussion was had on how we can work together within the community.”
