Ex-Thatcham vicar cleared of four further sex charges
The Rev. Peter Jarvis did not flinch as a jury returned not guilty verdicts on four sexual offence charges against two teenage girls and two teenage boys between June 1, 2008, and October 31, 2011.
They were today (Thursday) still deliberating over a final count of sexual impropriety.
The 50-year-old was accused of making advances to the youngsters and sending them explicit text messages.
The trail, held at Reading Crown Court, also heard how he had taken a "wholly inappropriate interest" in children's sex lives.
The church man, wearing a black suit, white shirt and black tie and carrying a brown leather satchel, showed no emotion as the verdicts were read out.
The jury, comprised of seven women and five men, yesterday (Wednesday) unanimously cleared Mr Jarvis of seven of the charges.
Rev. Jarvis, now of Spencers Wood, had denied all 12 charges.
