Exclusive interview with NHS England chief executive in this week's NWN

In an exclusive interview with NWN reporter Dan Cooper, Mr Stevens also hinted that the hospital could be expanded in the future to provide additional services.
In this week’s paper, he also tells us about the pressures facing the NHS, how he has found his first nine months in the job and revealed that the Newbury and District Clinical Commissioning Group will receive extra funds in 2015/16.
Mr Stevens also speaks at length about spending Christmas in Newbury with his parents and panto at the Corn Exchange.
Speaking about the future of the NHS, Mr Stevens said: “The NHS is the right answer for Britain.
"It is what people in this country want and it is all of our responsibilities to make sure that the service improves and is responsive to the different preferences that people have.
“It is obviously something people care deeply about and we all want to get it right.”
