Exotic new flavours for Hungerford
Shisi has opened at number 14, Charnham Street, in the premises of the former Sapphire Furnishings.
Mr Genders, licensee of the John O’Gaunt pub in Bridge Street, said: “We plan to introduce a sit down restaurant later, using the same kitchen. I’ve travelled extensively and I love this food and there wasn’t anywhere in Hungerford offering anything like it.”
Mr Genders has employed two chefs from New Zealand and said: “They’re really good chefs. Fusion food is a massive thing over there. We plan to apply for a licence to serve a range of bottled beers from all over the region.”
The publican also plans to introduce a brew from his micro brewery at the John O’Gaunt pub specifically tailored for the food and using special Japanese hops .
Shisi offers food using flavours and ingredients from Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Korea and other countries from the region.
