Mortimer launches greening initiative this weekend

Interested in money and energy saving tips? Visit the Greening Mortimer Launch event this Saturday (January 14).

Expert advice will be available for residents on how they can be more sustainable and cost effective with their energy usage.

The free event will he hosted at Mortimer Methodist Church Hall from 2-5pm.

People can sign up for a free thermal image of their homes to see how and where heat is being lost.

"This will be a fun event to bring the village together to learn more and take up the challenge," said Greening Mortimer chair, Amanda Marsden.

"Supported by West Berkshire Council, who kindly subsidised our membership, the Greening Campaign is a Stratfield Mortimer Parish Council and community-led initiative.

"The primary focus of the Greening Campaign is to help us, as individuals and as a community, to reduce our daily carbon footprint by making small and simple changes to the way we live. Working together as a community makes it fun and easier for everyone."
