A keynote address will be given by a special guest from hearing aid manufacturer Starkey and there will also be some demonstrations of the latest kit available.

In recent years, this has seen improvements to the way hearing aids cope with noisy environments, improved connectively to mobile phones, and now a new Bluetooth standard that will start to replace hearing loops in public venues such as train stations and arenas.

Exhibitors will include the Hearing Aid Repair Shop, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Starkey.

Profits from the Mary Hare Hearing Centre go back to the Mary Hare School, which gives a specialist education to deaf and hearing-impaired children and supports their families.

It offers education for both primary and secondary school-aged children.

The school’s principal, Robin Askew, will give a speech at 1pm.

Visit maryharehearingservices.co.uk for more details or to book a place.

The event takes place from 9am to 2pm on Friday, November 8, and includes a brunch and a fundraising raffle.

Tours of the school will be available.

The Arlington Arts Centre is at Snelsmore Common.
