Family pay tribute to man killed on M4
Trevor Hazzard was "a wonderful loving husband and fantastic father"
THE family of a Beenham man killed during a multi-vehicle collision on the M4 on Wednesday have said he was "a wonderful loving husband and a fantastic father."
A statement released by the family today (Wednesday) said:
"Trevor Hazzard was a wonderful loving husband to Caroline for 33 years, a fantastic father to his sons Neil and Stephen and just ten weeks ago became a proud grandfather for the first time to baby Harry."
"He will be sadly missed by all family and friends.
"He was a loving husband, a devoted father and was always there for the family.
"He was very well liked and would do anything for anyone. "He was also well known for liking a joke and a tease."
Mr Hazzard, a 64-year old lorry driver for waste firm Grundon, was born in Winchester and moved to the Thatcham area with his mother and father and sisters Janice and Jean.
He attended Kennet School in Thatcham and started a banger racing team called the Hillbillies and became involved in many charity races.
He spent the last 26 years of his life living in the Beenham area.
His favourite hobby which he had done for over twenty years was fishing,and he was a well known member of many local clubs.
Mr Hazzard leaves behind his wife Caroline, his sons Neil and Stephen, his grandson Harry and his sisters Janice and Jean.
Mr Hazzard's funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 16 St Mary's Church in Thatcham and his family would like to invite all his friends to attend.
A wake will then be held at Thatcham Football Club.
Family flowers are requested only. Donations would be greatly received for the Royal National Institute for he Blind supporting blind and partially sighted people, a charity close to Mr Hazzard's heart.
